THE SCHEDULE
Wednesday
This is the last week of several of our series classes on Thursday nights…but not to worry: new series classes begin next week, including Beginning Nightclub, Beginning Country 2-Step, West Coast Swing 1A, and West Coast Swing Transitions–and don’t forget: if you sign up for the Transitions series, you can take Level 1A taught in the previous hour FOR FREE!
5:30 ARGENTINE TANGO, LEVEL 3 with Rich Howe (drop-in)
5:30 ADVANCED BEGINNING SALSA (drop-in) with Linda Drake
6:30 ARGENTINE TANGO, LEVEL 2 (week 5 of 6) with Rich Howe
6:30 INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED FOXTROT (drop-in) with Linda Drake ~ Finally Linda is ready to teach Foxtrot; basically she’ll be training dancers on how to use what was learned in Waltz classes in Foxtrot timing;
7:30 WEST COAST SWING II (drop-in) with Linda Drake
7:30 ARGENTINE TANGO, LEVEL 1(week 5 of 6) with Rich Howe ~
Thursday
6:00 BEGINNING NIGHTCLUB SERIES (week 6 of 6) with Laura Slania ~ often called Romantic 2-Step because it’s danced to the slower rhythms heard in many love songs, Nightclub is one of the easiest dances to pick up, allowing dancers to quickly move on to the more advanced level (also taught at this hour–see below).
6:00 INTERMEDIATE NIGHTCLUB (drop-in) with Linda Drake ~ take your Nightclub to a new level with some great new steps and patterns that will focus on the social side of this dance; in these first few weeks, we’ll be working on variations of a theme with never-before-taught patterns that are cool but not too challenging—if you have the basics of Nightclub down already, come join this class
7:00 WEST COAST SWING LEVEL 2 (drop-in) with Linda Drake ~ come develop your skills of musicality, while learning the most current patterns and styling in this ever-changing fun-filled dance
7:00 WEST COAST SWING LEVEL 1 SERIES PART 1C (Week 6 of 6) with Laura Slania ~ Some of you might be thinking to yourselves, “Why are there so many
West Coast Swing classes in Linda’s schedule?” I’ll tell you why: ‘Cuz people love it! It’s one of the most fun dances to use to accentuate the intricacies of songs. It is playful yet soulful, spunky yet funky. KEEP IN MIND: you don’t have to take Level 1A or Level 1B in order to take Level 1C.
8:00 WEST COAST SWING ”TRANSITION” SERIES (week 6 of 6) with Kristy Parker; $50 (cash or check) for the entire series, or you can drop in at regular class prices;
8:00 BEGINNING COUNTRY 2-STEP SERIES (week 5 of 6) with Linda Drake; a series class so we can start with basics but move on as fast as we can to more variations. $50 (cash or check) for the entire series, or you can drop in at regular class prices

Places to Dance
- The Madonna Inn has live music Wednesday thru Saturday and the lovely Nancy Lara DJ’ing on Sunday nights.
- For you Tango dancers out there, the Madonna Inn is the place to be on Tuesdays from 7-9pm.
- Jazz at the Inn at Morro Bay every Friday night; variety of jazz styles. I recommend that ladies wear flats or wide-heeled shoes (dancing on tiles can get tricky in stilettos). The first Saturday of every month, the jazz is of the Latin variety…lots of Salsa, ChaCha, Rumba, and Cumbia. Come check it out.
-
For Country Western dancing, check out The Ranch in San Miguel, located at 1285 Mission–”just down from the mission”, so says the song on their webpage: www.liveattheranch.com.
-
Also, check out D’Anbino at 710 Pine St., PR (next to the railway station); it’s a wine bar with a stage for live music and room to dance IF they don’t put chairs on the dance floor (ugh!); Visit their website at www.danbino.com
- Of course, Sunday nights at the Madonna Inn with the lovely Nancy Lara DJ’ing WCS and a variety of ballroom music.
